Damaged, aging skin may be making you look older than you feel. The good news is that an IPL® Photofacial could help revive your skin and reveal the clear, healthy complexion underneath. At ReNova Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa, Dr. Julio Clavijo-Alvarez offers IPL® Photofacials to patients in and around Pittsburgh, PA.
What is an IPL® Photofacial?
An IPL® Photofacial is a procedure that uses Icon™ laser light to target skin imperfections such as brown spots, sun damage, rosacea and more. This procedure is safe for use on a variety of body parts, including the face, legs, chest, neck and shoulders.
How Much Does an IPL® Photofacial Cost?
The cost of an IPL® Photofacial will vary depending on your needs but usually costs between $300 and $500. At ReNova Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa, we calculate all our procedures on an individual basis, and will provide your unique pricing during your consultation.
To ensure all our procedures are financially accessible, we accept a wide range of payment options, including financing through Dollar Bank and CareCredit®.
Am I a Good Candidate for an IPL® Photofacial?
IPL® Photofacial benefits are seemingly endless. As a result, if you’re struggling with spider veins, redness, hyperpigmentation or any other skin concerns, you could be a good candidate for an IPL® Photofacial. However, the best way to determine your candidacy for this or any other procedure is to schedule a consultation.
How is an IPL® Photofacial Performed?
At ReNova Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa, all of our IPL® Photofacials are performed in our office. During your procedure, you’ll be comfortably reclined. Our team will ensure the treatment area is clean before applying a gel to the skin, which amplifies the impact of the light waves. The Icon™ laser is then moved over the treatment area, typically multiple times, to achieve the desired results.
What is Recovery Like After an IPL® Photofacial?
One of the best aspects of IPL® Photofacial recovery is virtually no required downtime. Although your treatment area may be a little red and puffy, you’re free to apply makeup as soon as your session is complete and can return to your daily routine immediately. We recommend patients apply sunscreen for at least a week to protect the skin after this procedure. Our team will discuss the specifics of your treatment during your procedure.
How Long Will My IPL® Photofacial Results Last?
While the results of your IPL® Photofacial are designed to last for the long-term, the skin will continue to age and is still susceptible to damage. To maintain best results, we recommend a supportive skincare routine. Some patients may choose to schedule follow up appointments on a monthly basis, to maintain consistent results. We can discuss the best treatment plan for your goals during your consultation.
At ReNova Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa, we offer IPL® Photofacials to men and women in Pittsburgh, Monroeville, Wexford and the surrounding PA communities. To learn more about this procedure and determine whether this treatment is right for you, contact us today.
